One in seven Britons have admitted to breaking lockdown restrictions, it has been revealed.

A survey carried out by the Sun indicated that 14% have flouted the rules at some stage, while 7% said that they had reported someone for rule breaches.

Feedback shows people have slipped out of quarantine to see parents, socialise with friends or even meet their lovers.

Another commonly reoccurring reason to sneak out of the house and violate guidelines was to have a much needed haircut, results have shown.

The survey also revealed that a third of people haven’t followed the rules to the letter during the pandemic.

Of those that did break the lockdown guidelines, just more than half said they had left home once a day.

A total of 50 per cent also confessed to going out to meet family and friends, despite the UK’s warning level of coronavirus spread being high.
