Marmite. You either love it or you hate it.

For the lucky half that loves it, you can now get a personalised jar of your favourite veggie extract and what could be a more romantic gift for Valentine’s Day than a personalised jar with your cutesy, sickly sweet pet name on it?

Well, you’re gonna have to rethink that plan because Marmite has put a ban on certain names adorning their iconic jars. ‘Bae’, ‘Snookums’ and ‘Baby Cakes’ were listed as the banned names based on the findings of our poll which listed those as the three most hated terms of affection.

The poll of 2,000 UK adults found that women were more likely to loathe the terms, whereas men were more affected by terms such as ‘darling’ and ‘babes’.

In contrast, the terms ‘honey’, ‘treacle’ and ‘sweetness’ proved to be the least vomit inducing with only 1.8% of respondents hating them.

The story gained extensive coverage, with the survey cited on Mashable, The Huffington Post, Munchies as well as a selection of regional news sites.
