OnePoll has taken on Mark Hodson, former Head of Market Research at YouGov and founder of Opinium, as Head of Research.

Hodson joins from the British Heart Foundation, where he served as Head of Consumer Insight for three years.

OnePoll has enjoyed 30% growth over the last two years, meeting rising demand for data-driven insights in consumer PR.

He said: “I am delighted to be joining OnePoll at a time of great change and opportunity, both for the firm and for UK opinion polling in general. We need to concentrate on delivering the insight our clients need in an affordable and timely manner.”

OnePoll launches its first app in 2018 in a bid to expand its sizable online panel, making it simpler for panellists to complete questionnaires.

Hodson added: “Having headed up the research function at Opinium and YouGov in the past, I’m aware of the pressures on ‘for publication’ research and how these differ from conventional confidential surveys. With the upcoming launch of our new App, OnePoll will be a position to deliver results to our clients faster and more accurately.”

OnePoll has made its name as a research agency with strong media connections, often cited in top national news publications including The Sun, MailOnline, Telegraph and the Independent.

A OnePoll spokesman said: “We’re delighted to welcome Mark on board.  He joins us at a very exciting time in our development and his experience and expertise will help us take our market research offering to the next level.”
