Tom Hiddleston’s Jonathan Pine has been voted the most stylish character on TV according to our survey. Pine was the leading character in the BBC’s drama The Night Manager which aired earlier this year.
Hiddleston’s dapper Jonathan Pine pipped Idris Elba’s Luther to the top spot, whilst Jeremy Piven’s Mr. Selfridge came third. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock came fourth with Aiden Turner’s (often topless) Poldark completing the top 5.
Things weren’t quite so complimentary for Keith Lemon, however, as he was voted the least stylish male celebrity. Other fashion victims included Simon Cowell, Jeremy Clarkson, and Chris Evans.
But it wasn’t just a name and shame. A quarter of respondents revealed that they didn’t trust their man to shop for clothes alone, with 9% admitting to dictating exactly what their partner should wear.
45% of the 2,000 women surveyed felt that it was very important for their partner to look fashionable.
The survey was commissioned by ITV’s Lorraine ahead of Lorraine’s High Street Fashion Awards which launches on May 3. The story achieved coverage on The Telegraph, The Metro, The Belfast Telegraph, The Irish Independent and a host of other news sites. The story was also mentioned on Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 breakfast show and tweeted by the Tom Hiddleston Page (one of the actor’s many fan accounts) which boasts an impressive following of 47.8K.
